Firefox released its FireFox Focus around a year or so ago. Its main feature is the privacy focused direction the app takes. Mozilla has now released additional features to enhance the user experience.

What is in the new update?

Mozilla announced the features available through its blog. These include the ability to include URL autocomplete during the usage of your app. As you can guess by the name, this means you do not have to type out the complete website when you are trying to visit it. Type the first few letters and the search field will highlight the rest.

Firefox Focus will search through over four hundred and fifty popular URLs to suggest what you have in mind. In the event that the website that you usually visit, Mozilla still has a solution. The app also lets you add and maintain custom autocomplete URLs in conjunction with what it knows. If you decide not to use the feature, it can be disabled. However, it certainly adds more convenience to your day to day usage.

Another feature in the update is the ability to add search engines from any website that has a search field. This means you can pull up information from websites without actually going to the website. Just like the previous feature, this enhances the convenience of Firefox Focus.

For a little background, Focus released first on iOS in 2016. In June of this year, it debuted on Android. Its main goal is to be an ultra lean web browser that heavily focuses on privacy. The app blocks ads, analytics and other forms of trackers to give you a private experience. Web fonts can be blocked too, should you want to. With over one million downloads on Android so far, it is safe to say the app is doing pretty well.
