Nokia 9: Rumors

0

The months before the Nokia 8 was released, there are faint whispers about a second phone. However, this did not happen and only the Nokia 8 was released. The rumours died, albeit temporarily and they started again, this time stronger. We’ve unpicked the rumours to present everything we know about the Nokia 9 so far – and there’s a lot of chatter.

Nokia 9: Design and build

Indian site Compareraja working in cahoots with @onleaks was able to give the world an idea about how this upcoming device will look.

According to these renders, Nokia might deploy a design like Samsung. It will have a metal core but glass on the front and the back of the device. The rumours further say that the dimensions will be 140.9 x 72.9 x 7.5mm with the camera bump expanding it to 8.9mm. These dimensions do not seem very fitting and it is suggested that you take them with a grain of salt.

A leak by Chinese site Baidu has shown us the rear panel of the Nokia 9 essentially backing up these design leaks.

Nokia insiders who have been in contact with Russian website 4Pda say that the upcoming Nokia 9 will feature a more premium design and will also have some form of waterproofing.

Nokia 9: Display

Rumors say that the device will have either a 5.5 or 5.7-inch OLED screen. The resolution will be 2560 x 1440 pixels. The aspect ratio is not clear. The device might release with an 18:9 or a 16:9 but we do not have news on it so far.

Nokia 9: Hardware specs

If the phone does release this year, it will release with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and 6GB RAM. The storage will be maxed out at 64 or 128 GB + a Micro SD slot. The battery will be 3800mAh battery with Quick Charge. The fingerprint sensor is likely to be on the back. Nokia will likely team up with Carl Zeiss for the cameras. They could be vertically stacked and will feature a dual lens mechanism.
