Xiaomi has released the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2; a phone that follows the recent trends to deliver a design that eliminates the bezels on the sides of the phone. Below we take a quick look at the stunning device.
Display of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2
The display is the highlight of the device. The edge to edge display is 5.99 inches and the aspect ratio is 18:9. Xiaomi has opted for an LCD panel with a resolution of 2160 x 1080. The display is not as bright and vibrant as the OLDE displays from Samsung but it is nice to look at and useable.

Under the hood, the smartphone comes with a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor, 6GB of RAM, and either 64, 128, or 256GB of storage. The battery is 3400 mAh that can get you through the entire day with no hassle. The rest of the phone’s design continues the high-end theme. Ceramic is used to make the back of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2. The ceramic is mated on to an aluminum frame. Rest assured, the phone has been built to perfection and is on par with devices sold by Apple and Samsung.
Areas that disappoint
There are a few caveats. It does not have any kind of rated water resistance and it has a standard, single-lens camera instead of the sought after dual-camera set-up. The device also doesn’t have a headphone jack or wireless charging. Another downside is Xiaomi’s Android skin named the MIUI9. Xiaomi has based the UI on Nougat. The sad truth is that the interface does not resemble Nougat in any way.
Pricing and availability of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2
The device will launch in all the countries that Xiaomi currently sells smartphones. This list does not include the US. It will first launch in China with prices going from about $500 to $720.
