How to achieve parental control on your Smartphone

In today’s modern world, its hard to keep your children away from the gadgets. Although it is advised to keep their mobile phone usage under control, we also need to make sure that they stay from inappropriate websites during their technology time. Since there is no formal parental control available on smartphones, its still possible to block any website on your smartphone.

Let us share some simple steps to achieve this, on both the iPhone and android phone.

Steps to block a website on iPhone:

You need to follow below steps in order to block a website on your iPhone:

• Open Settings > General > Restrictions
• Tap on ‘Enable Restrictions’.
  • Here your phone will ask you enter a passcode, in case you wish to bypass the restriction to access any website at a later time. This passcode is different from the one that you’ve for screen lock. Although, you can keep both the same.
• Now you’ll have an option to either block/disallow any application from being accessed without a passcode or block any website.
• Under the websites section, you can choose to limit the websites with adult content or you can type in specific website addresses to block them.

If you wish to remove the restrictions at any later time, just tap on ‘Disable Restrictions’ and you’re done.

Steps to block a website on Android Phone:

On an android phone, the easiest way to apply parental control is to install an anti-virus application, forexample Trend Micro and follow below steps:

• Install application, open it.
• Go to Options > Safe Surfing
• Enable ‘Parental Control’ and create an account.
• Once an account is created, you’ll see an option ‘Blocked List’.
  • Add the website address that you wish to block and you’ve achieved your goal!
