The Jaybird Run

Great at audio. Bad at Bluetooth

0

The Jaybird Run is a totally wireless set of earbuds that are slated for release next month. Here we take a look at them.

Overview of the Jaybird Run

As you can guess from the name, the Jaybird Run is designed for running. These dime-sized bits slide into your ear canal without much effort and then work a lot like a pair of Bluetooth headsets. The Run earbuds connect to your smartphone.

Battery life of the Jaybird Run

It can play music for up to four hours on a single charge. They also come with a pill-shaped charging case. When the case is fully charged, it provides two charges. You can even get an hour of playback with a five-minute quick charge in the case.

Features of the Jaybird Run

The earbuds have a neat feature where you can use only one earbud if you prefer. This means you can plug in one earbud and go for a jog if you feel like it. Both earbuds also sport a single button that you can use to play, pause, skip, or beckon a personal assistant like Siri. There’s even a little microphone so that you can take calls. They are quite small in size. The earbuds fit snugly into your ears. Sound quality is above average. Bass is clear as are the other aspects of audio.

One downside of these earbuds is that they are susceptible to outside interference. According to reviews, this ironically occurs outdoors but they work perfectly fine inside. A statement from the company advises you to keep the phone in an armband or waistband.

Pricing and release date of the Jaybird Run

The earbuds are said to release in the first few weeks of October. The company did not give a specific date. They will sell at a starting price of $180.
